Summary
We collect only what's needed to make Neuriq work. We never sell your data. You can export or delete everything at any time.
1. What Data We Collect
Account Data
- Email address and authentication identifier
- Name (optional, for personalization)
- Authentication method and account status
Brain Items
- Everything you dump: text, images, web clips
- Automatically generated metadata: topics, categories, connections
- Timestamps of creation and modification
Integration Data
- Google Calendar: access to calendars you select
- Google Tasks: access to the Neuriq task list
Technical Data
- IP address (for security and abuse prevention)
- Browser/device information (for analytics and debugging)
- Error reports (to fix bugs)
2. Where Data Is Stored
Neuriq stores its primary application data in configured European cloud regions:
- Database: Google Firebase Firestore (EU region: europe-west3 / europe-west1)
- Files: Google Cloud Storage linked to the Neuriq Firebase project
- Authentication: Firebase Authentication
Some features require other processors, including AI, hosting, email, support, and integrations you choose to connect. Those providers may process limited data in other regions. Where required, Neuriq relies on appropriate contractual transfer safeguards.
3. How We Use Your Data
We DO use your data for:
- Making the Neuriq app function
- AI processing of your input (categorization, linking, summarization)
- Synchronization with Google Calendar/Tasks
- Protecting the service, measuring reliability, and fixing errors
- Providing support when you request it
We DO NOT use your data for:
- Training Neuriq's own general-purpose AI models on your private content
- Selling to third parties
- Advertising or profiling
- Sharing with other users (unless you explicitly enable this in future team features)
4. AI Processing
Neuriq uses Google's Gemini API for AI functionality. When you request an AI feature:
- Your input and the limited account context needed for the request are sent to the API
- Neuriq does not use your private content to train its own general-purpose models
- Google handles API data under the terms and retention rules applicable to our service configuration
- You should not submit secrets or highly sensitive information that is not needed for the feature
5. Data Retention
- Active accounts: As long as your account is active
- Deleted items: Removed from active application data after confirmation
- Deleted accounts: Active account data is removed promptly after a confirmed request
- Backups and security logs: Residual copies expire under provider retention schedules and may be retained where legally required
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
As an EU resident, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of all your data
- Correction: Modify incorrect data
- Deletion: Permanently delete all your data
- Portability: Export your data in a standard format
- Objection: Object to certain types of processing

7. Security
- HTTPS/TLS for all connections
- Encryption at rest provided by our cloud infrastructure
- Firebase Security Rules for strict access control
- Server-side authorization for account exports, deletion, and paid entitlements
- Passwords and identity credentials are handled by Firebase Authentication and supported identity providers
8. Cookies
The public marketing site does not currently load optional analytics. The Neuriq web app uses cookies and browser storage where needed for authentication, security, preferences, and the features you request.

9. Changes to This Policy
